Swollen Vulva in my 1 y/o ferret

Question
I started last year collecting ferrets. I have wanted them since I was a kid. I now have 5, 3 female and two male. All are registered with marshall Farms. I noticed that my 1 y/o female "Page" has a swollen vulva. It's like it came on over night. I have researched and keep finding that she is actually to young for this. My oldest one "Piper" went to the vet about 6 months ago for hair loss. Blood tests were done and treatment was suggested, but after keeping her seperated for 2 weeks all her fur on her tail grew back and started to gain her weight. She is the most energenic ferret I have now and doing great. Back to "Page". My carpet sharks are spoiled rotten, they live in a large mansion cage and get free time in my new ferret proof room. Talk about fun. Anyway, should I be worried. I plan on taking her to the vet but was wondering if this sounded like a emergency or was it something I can do at home. I pulled out my other cage and have seperated her in hopes she will come around like "Piper did. Yes, I have named my ferrets after the "Charmed ones". They are Piper, Phoebe, Page, Leo and Wyatt. You help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
I wouldn't take a chance of treating at home since ferrets are very good at hiding other symptoms until it is too late. Is the swollen vulva the only symptom she is showing?

When that is the main symptom is could be a few things the most obvious being adrenal she is a little young for it but I wouldn't rule it out without a vet. She could have a bacterial infection or a myriad of other things.

I suggest going ahead and making her a vet appointment for this and see what he/she thinks it could be and have some tests run.
