Question
QUESTION: Is my Maya okay by herself??

ANSWER: I'd be happy to answer your question if you could provide me with more information on Maya's circumstances. How old is she? Does she already have ferret friends? Did she have a friend pass away? Has she always been alone??

QUESTION: She is 7 months. Ever since I got her it's just her and me and my family!! She met 1 ferret friend but only once!No friends past away. She's happy, I am just wondering if she's maybe lonely?

Answer
Okay, thanks for clarifying! :) Well, if she seems happy and you have time every day to interact with her and play with her and let her run around she should be fine.

However, and I tell everyone this, once you own a ferret, it is not very much extra work to add another one. Ferrets are incredibly social animals, the more the merrier! Having a friend for her is a good idea in that she will have a constant companion and friend to play with, she won't get bored or lonely if you are busy, plus it's ten times as much fun for you to simply watch them interact with each other. But once you get her a friend she will become used to having a fellow ferret around, so if or when one of them dies, the other will become very depressed and may even die of heart break as well. Once a ferret is not a single ferret you can't really go back.

So just some things to keep in mind, some people love just having their one baby and form a really tight bond with the single ferret. Other people like providing their ferrets with friends so they can play and keep each other company if they have a busier lifestyle. (Even with multiple ferrets it's still necessary to play with them, it just takes the pressure off from you being the sole friend). So the choice is really up to you. If she's not displaying any  changes in behavior or doesn't seem lonely or sad she will be fine with just you, but the option is always open to adding a friend for her. I would say it's worth the higher risk of them getting emotionally attached, it is very fulfilling having a couple fuzzies running around and knowing for sure they are happy.

Hope I've helped, good luck
