my lovely little friend!

my ferret did have a friend once (a little older one mind), but sadly the older one has passed away, little young (a couple of months old) Drew (male ferret) may be missing his friend, how will he show symptoms of missing his friend and should i get another?

Hi Dan and thanks for writing.  Ferrets do sometimes show symptoms of grief & sadness when another ferret with whom they've bonded passes away. You'll see a change in behavior, less activity, more lethargy, possibly loss of interest in eating (which is very serious). It's very similar to humans being depressed and morose. Keep a close eye on Drew and interact with him as much as you can.

Yes, it is a good idea to get another ferret. Ferrets are very social animals and Drew will likely not thrive if he's by himself. Make sure to introduce the two to each other first, and under supervised conditions. Try a local ferret shelter or animal shelter.
