I think my ferret ate an entire chocolate egg!

Please help me! I'm panicking now because when i called my little baby he didnt come...then i heard him moving under the bed, so i looked and grabbed him...only to discover only PART of the wrapper to a small chocolate egg! I put him in his cage and had him drink some water but what do I do now? Will he be ok? Any input would be wonderful...he has a vet check on the 30th, so before then would be fantastic! Thanks a bunch!

Don't panic, a small amount of chocolate is rarely going to cause any problems. Did you actually see your ferret eating the chocolate? Most likely, he was just stashing the wrapper. most ferrets are more interested in the shiny crackling wrapper than what's inside.
At any rate,  It seems that for many ferrets, eating small amounts of semisweet chocolate does not cause problems, but to be safe, avoid chocolate. There is some evidence that large amounts of chocolate (such as half a dozen Hershey's kisses) can cause a fatal reaction in SOME ferrets.
Your ferret should be fine. If you notice any behaviors, such as lethargy, or excessive drooling, take him to the vet. But if he is acting fine,and he is using the bathroom fine,  he most likely will be fine. Please keep me posted! :-)
