Answer
Hello Charlie,

This is a very serious situation and I would please encourage you to always keep a close eye on what your ferrets are doing at all times! They are very crafty and small critters and they can get themselves in a lot of trouble. It is up to us as ferret parents to keep them out of this trouble.

You need to warm him her up VERY slowly. You might want to start out with some warm towels fresh from a couple minutes in the dryer. Make sure the towels are dry and not too hot because she won't be able to move away if they are too hot for you. You want to keep in mind that if it feels hot to you, it definitely feels too hot to her right now. You want to keep her wrapped up for quite a bit and keep a very close eye on her. Gently massage extremities and body. Keep the warming process gradual. Bluish or black discoloration of the skin or limbs is very serious and if you see this happening you need to contact a vet IMMEDIATELY! Even if it is an emergency hospital for other animals, you need to start making some calls because that is a serious problem. Please keep an eye on this and let me know if anything changes. If there any turns for the worse, PLEASE don't wait for an answer from me - get on the phone and start looking for a vet in your area to help you take care of this problem. This is very serious.

Please keep me updated on the situation, and like I said, if it gets worse, please call a vet. Keep her warm, but make sure she isn't getting too hot. Keep an eye on her and try getting her water and a little food, if she'll take it, but she probably won't right away. Keep trying to warm her up and if the situation doesn't change soon, PLEASE get her to a vet.

I hope this helps, and in the future, please make sure you know where she is at all times! Please keep me updated.

Sincerely,
Emilee Andrews
