Question
QUESTION: Hello, I was wondering if there was some information you could give me pretaining to my pregnant female. She has been pregnant for 70 days as my calcuations might not be acurate but around that number. She has been licking down there and showing no signs of having them soon. She is eating and drinking water, just been very irritated and look's uncomfortable. She threw up a couple times the other day and  I do not have a thermomater to take her temp. I just would like to know if I should take her to the vet or maybe wait a little longer. I'm just very worried about her. I do not have the money right now to pay the vet bill and love her very much. I understand that she will not eat before giving birth and she will scratch at her bedding in her box that I made her, but she has not even done that. I hope you can help.. Thank you for you time.

ANSWER: Hi. I hope that something has happened by now. If she is really this late, then she needs to have a check up to make sure that everything's ok. Are you 100% sure that she is pregnant? Can you feel the puppies moving? What breed is your girl?

QUESTION: I am 100% she is pregnant, I can feel the puppies moving. Nothing has happened so far.  They told me she was a beagle husky mix, but she's really not that big, shes not a lap dog, but shes not as big as a  husky either. Maybe medium size. I do not have the money to take her to the vet right now. I hope you can suggest something. Thanks

Answer
Ok, are you positive on the due date? Is it possible that she was bred later than you thought? Has she had any type of discharge from her vagina in the last few days? One way to tell if a dog is getting close is that her belly will look like a bag of rocks, and you may be able to see her hip bones. Does she have milk yet? There's nothing that I can suggest you doing at home that is safe. Sadly, you'll either have to wait her out, or take her to the vet. You may be able to call around in your area to see if you can find a vet that takes payments.
