Titan my older male I have a female pit and she is bleeding. Just her first one so she is not ready to get pregnant. I have a male and when i go to work they roam free. When is it during there cycle that she will let the male on her or should i just put her in her cage everyday..Someone told me it was when she was finished but if this is the case for what period of time will she let him on her...Thanks so much..As well would like to know how old is to old to breed you pits. Not that I have to breed my older male but he still looks and acts like a pup. He will be 9 in June. He is just so beautiful i would love to have one of his pups....

How old is your female? If this is her first heat, she should be separated. A season can last 21 days. You female is ready to get pregnant when she ovulates. That can happen anytime between day 9 and 21.

A male can produce semen until the day he dies. He still has time to produce.
