dog tying on the outside (AGAIN)

I was e mailing back and forth with one of the other experts but it says she is not available.  I hate to bother everyone but I am just confused and anxious. I have had my 5 year old female pekeginese with a one year old male shi tzu since Saturday (her day 9)They were very interested but having trouble being that it's both there first time. Last night he finally got it in the right place and started but then came out fully erected and swollen and leaked semen. He was this way for about 10 minutes. I put them both to bed for the night so the could try again today. All day he seemed uninterested and even started growling at her when she tried to entice him. So I kept the separated throughout the day bringing them together for brief periods. Well tonight the same thing happened as last night. They were both very willing and he got it in place and was there for maybe a minute; she was extremely still and accepting and then he came out erected and swollen and stayed like that for 20 minutes.  What is happening? We've been helping assist and she was fine and he seemed to just get tired.  What do I do now; how long do I wait she is now on day 11.  Any tips to get them to be more successful.

She may have a stricture inside of her vagina blocking the male. You may want to take her in to the vet to see if this is the problem. When you call in the morning, tell them what day of her cycle she's on, so that they'll know that time is very important here. Since she is only on day 11, that may also be the problem. She may not be fully ready yet. I'd call your vet in the morning and see what he says. If it shows up that nothing is wrong with her physically, then when the dogs do breed, hold the male's rear in place for atleast 5 minutes if possible. If you need anymore help, feel free to write.
