Question
QUESTION: I just got a puppy and i know nothing about training one.
So,i am going to ask you maybe the most fundamental q.
How am i going "teach" my puppy such that it urinates i the place where i will designate and not wherever it finds?

ANSWER: Hi. The first step is to watch for clues when your puppy needs to go potty. As soon as he wakes up, take him straight outside. If you see him with nose to the ground, sniffing around, take him outside. If he's to go outside to potty, then always take him to the same spot each time. Tell him "go potty" or something like that, and then praise him a lot when he does it. If he's to go inside, then I recommend using puppy pads. They have a scent to them that will help teach a puppy to use them instead of the floor. If you see your puppy in the middle of using the bathroom in a bad place, simply say no in a loud voice, pick the puppy up and put him in the right spot. And then when he does his business, praise him. The most important thing to remember is to praise, and praise often! It's something that you have to be consistent with. He'll get it eventually if you have patience. Good luck!:-)

QUESTION: What i do in the case in which  it has ALREADY urinated somewhere.
You are focusing on the scenario that i catch him that moment doing it.

Answer
Then you clean it up. It does you no good to yell at or spank a puppy after he's already done it a while back. They don't remember doing it, and it will only make them mistrust you. You can buy some really good stuff at Wal-Mart, or stores like it, that helps to remove the odor. If you don't remove the odor, then he'll be more likely to keep using the same place over again.
