5 day old pups and mom

I have a rottweiler that gave birth to 10 pups.  I am having a hard time getting her to drink.  Do you have any ideas.  I am afraid that mom isn't going to produce enough milk for the pups.  I found a website and I gave her 1 cup evaporated milk, 2 cups water and 1 tsp. karo syrup.  The only problem is it doesn't say how often.  Thanks, Fawn

Try giving her plain old broth, chicken or beef. That usually works. If it doesn't, melt vanilla ice cream. You could also try something like Gatorade, or Pedylite. Give her free access to fluids, meaning have them close to her at all times. She should be able to drink as much as she wants right now. Good luck!
