puppy birth problems

My pit mutt has delivered 2 pups about one hour apart and now has gone into a quiet stage. She still has more pups and occasional contractions. She doesn't appear to be in distress but 5 hours have passed since the second pup, is this unusual?Local vet wants $235 just for me to show for xray.After that it will get expensive. Please advise me what to do next. The pups so far have been small or normal size (dad unknown)so I don't believe one is stuck as she is relaxed and seems to want to sleep rather than work at getting the rest of the job done. Hi Jim. 5 hours is a really long time between puppies. She needs to be took to the vet. She may only need a shot of oxytocin to get things going again. Her labor may have just stalled, and needs a boost to get started again. If this is all she needs, then it shouldn't be that expensive. Maybe call your vet and ask about that shot? See how much he'll charge for that. If a puppy is stuck, then you could be looking at some trouble, and it can get epensive fast. You could try to 'feather' her. You can run your fingers over the spot above her vulva. That sometimes gets things going again. You can also wash your hands, and reach into her vagina to see if a puppy is stuck or not. If you have large hands, only use a finger or two to feel. If a puppy is stuck, you should be able to feel it. Besides that, it's vet time. I hope that everything is ok.
