Question
Ok, Please no moral advise!  I have already decided to have my 2yo Pom bred.  However I want to make sure to do it as safely and serenely as possible.  I just noticed the first drops of blood today!  When will she be ready?  Should Sire come to my house or vice versa ect

Answer
Hi Michelle -- I'm nobody's moral advisor. I'm here strictly as a helper to make the process more easier to understand.  And for the record, a 2 year old is a prime age.

If the male you choose has never met your female, you should introduce them immediately. The male will be more dominate and assertive at his own house.  If the male is NOT an experienced male, you may need to assist the process.

She will be "ready" usually within 10 - 15 days after you noticed the blood.  To be absolutely sure, progesterone testing is the way to go.

Good luck.
