Bitch in heat but wants to mount the male!

My 2 year old yorkie bitch is in heat and presenting herself to my yorkie male. He is desperate to mount her but she is very dominant and a bit bigger so tries to mount him instead. Is there anything I can do. She hasn't been mated before but the male has.

That happens with dominant females.

What you need to do is sit yourself on the floor (place your back against the wall, it will make it easier).

Put the female across your lap with her front legs on one side and her back on the other.  (It's a good idea to have a collar or leash on her to control her).  Bring the male around to the business end and let him get his business done without the distraction of the female jumping, moving and getting impatient.  

Once a tie has occurred you can either let the female go or if she starts dragging him around the yard, hold her until he's done.
