Dog chasing Cat

Hi, I adopted an English Cocker Spaniel who is 5 and she chases our cat to the point the cat is now very paranoid of the dog.  Do you have any suggestions on how I can train my dog to stop harrassing my cat?  Thanks.

At 5 years of age, it might be difficult, and especially since the cat is already afraid of her and will most likely run as soon as she sees the dog. You need to keep them separated when you're not able to watch them, so that the dog is not able to chase the cat when you're not there to correct it.

I'd try keeping the dog on a leash, and as soon as she starts making eyes at the cat, tell her "NO" and pop the leash if she doesn't look away.

You may never be able to trust them to be loose together.
