Potty training my 2 year old Yorkie

QUESTION: I read you said put him in a cage.  He will pee and poop in his cage.  He will not let me know he needs to go potty until after he goes.  Plus, I will let him outside and he will come inside to potty.  He has pooped on our dinner table, bed, truck, you name it and he has potty there.  What am I to do.  My son loves his dog, but I am tired of buying new carpet.  If I put him in his cage all he does is wine until I loose my mind.  I want to get rid of him, but I want to make sure I try everything so my son doesn't loose his dog.  Please help me I am going crazy with this dog.  Jenni

ANSWER: Well since the crate didn't work,the other thing you can try is to first put him in a puppy pen and put down either papers or puppy pads-and every half an hour or so(also when he starts to sniff around a lot)put him on the pads/paper then praise him once he starts going on them on his own.Then what you can do after he goes on them for  aweek on his own,is then gate him off with a baby gate or move his pen to the room that has the door you want him to use,and start putting the pads/papers near the door,then once he uses them near the door put the pads outside,and that will move him outside

QUESTION: A baby gate won't work he jumps too high.  The pads didn't work, all he did
was eat them.  I have tried everything I could possibly think of, nothing
works.  If you have any other ideas please let me know.  I take him out every
thirty minutes anyways because I don't want him to pee or poop on my
carpet.  Hi pees and poops outside just not always.  Sometimes he will be
outside all day and come in the house and pee or poop.  I need some help or
I will be getting rid of this dog.  Thanks Jenni

Ok what you can do now,is to call up professional trainers,and find one that can work with you and your dog,as sometimes a trainer has to see the way the dog is acting

Trainers are miracle workers,and can even make the difference between the owner wanting to put to sleep there dog,and turning that dog into the best dog in the world-so before giving up all hope try out a dog trainer
