small dog wont eat

My small dog that is 7 years old.. has not been eating for a week.. He has drank alot of water though. More than usual. His back also seems to be bothering him so bad he will fall at times. I love this dog so much. Could u help?

Hi Elizabeth,

Since your dog still isn't eating after a week, and seems to be having other problems with mobility or balance, it's time to have him examined by your vet.
If your dog is having back trouble to the degree that he can't stand, he's in a terrific amount of pain, and needs medication to control it.

If you have financial concerns, contact your local animal shelter or Humane Association. Many times they know of reduced cost vet clinics in the area. You could also ask your veterinarian if it's possible for you to pay off your vet bill over an agreed upon period of time.

Either way, your dog needs to see a doctor.
