Question
hey i have a 10 week old pomarainan male and i was woundering by looking at its puppy coat if youll be able to determin if he will have a show coat quality.. and what are some of the thing i should look for with the puppy coat? thanks

Answer
Andrew, your question is a difficult one to answer. At 10 weeks the are alot of things you can look for, coat texture, thickness, color. But puppies change from one week to the other. Puppies that are born from 2 champions are not guarantied to produce a pick puppy.
Heads turn different shapes, noses get too long and ears grow too big. All Judges like different types. Some like Black and some prefer Sable it is up to them to compare what they determine what dog best represents the standard of the breed.
These can happen at any time. Some babies just come together better than others. It may be 6 months or older before you start to see signs of what the dog will become.
I know that this may not answer your question but read or go to a local AKC dog show, talk with the pom people. There are wonderful people out there that love to talk and share their knowledge with other dogs lovers.
Hope I have been of some help.
