Question
QUESTION: I was a professional dog groomer many years ago.  I left something caustic in my grooming case the last time we moved.  By the time I looked, the blades were pitted and can not be revived.  I need a replacement for the A2 Oster.  I think it would be easiest for me to still use removable blades.  In mostly use #15 for ears, belly, pads and then #5 or #7 on my two Westies.  I have seen a reasonable prices for Andis Super 2 speed.  But I am confused by the blade numbers 3 3/4 and 7FC.  Can you suggest what would fit my needs?  A huge thank you!

ANSWER: 7 fc is a Full Clip as opposed to a skip tooth- fc has a smoother finish.
3 3/4 can't imagine huge difference to a snap on blade.
Andis handle runs cooler than the Oster regular

I think your blade choices are dead on would not change a thing!
good luck

QUESTION: Does #3 3/4 Landis blade compare to a #5 OSTER blade?  I would love getting a smoother finish from the #7FC.  Neither of my Westies have true Westie coat---but still cute and of course lots of fun!

Answer
Got to be honest- I never used a 3 3/4. Sounds to me like it is a very long length. 5# blades are on the medium length side. the lower the # the longer the length.
Just FYI- all the snap on blades are interchangeable. 8# are trade based terrier blades but that is too short for the colder months as far as I am concerned. For a Teddy bear/stuffed animal look you could go for the longer length all over and then just scissor out the head. I do that for alot of westies in the winter.
