Oster A5 turbo clipper

Question
Hi Elizabeth,
We have just had the blades sharpened and when you start grooming the blades stop moving. When putting a blade on the clipper, sometimes you have to snap it down 2 or 3 times for it to "catch" and start clipping. It seems like the blades aren't being held down tight enough for the clipper to engage the blades. Any help appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Answer
Well I am no mechanic but I can tell you what I think and have been told over the 22 years I have been doing this. They don't make 'em like they use to. It's not worth having them sharpened for the most part. Most of the blade makers just want you to buy new ones anyway. They may have over tightened them or you may need to grease the blade. Try cleaning them in blade wash and oiling them again. You may want to send the whole thing in for a tune up. I usually send mine in once a year- or buy a new one. I send it right back to Oster.
Compare the ones you just got back with ones that don't give you a problem. See if you can eyeball the difference. Look in the manual and see what they suggest about adjustments.
Sorry I can't be more helpful but everything today is made with a built in obsolescence factor.
