Question

Answer
Bertha - you have to be firm and confident with a puppy when doing this. Otherwise you may cause greater problems down the line. Are you capable of this? No squiggling and squirming, biting and nipping- whatsoever! Right? If your dog is giving you a hard time already then something is up. Maybe you should have it done professionally a few times first so you can see how it is done and your pup has no emotional investment with that technician. Do you have someone who can hold him while you do this? Start out easy, try treats after each nail, let him nibble on a treat while you are doing it if someone is helping you. Often if you lay them down on their side it calms them. Just don't let him sense any fear or hesitation on your part. Do a few at a time. Gradually if necessary.
Make sure your machine is fully charged and be quick. Personally I use a Dremal, it so much easier.
Unless something traumatic happens he should come around but remember to handle hi feet alot in order for him to get used to it.
good luck
