Past dog food recalls

Question
Back about 3 years ago there were massive recalls on dogfood.  At that time I did not have dogs.  Now I have 2 (lab and aussie).  I am concerned now.  I changed from Iams LB Adult Chicken to Diamond LB Lamb/Rice because the lab has re-occuring ear problems.  Now reading the Internet there were Diamond recalls.  Is Diamond a good brand?  Should I go with something else?  I wanted a dog food that was not outrageously expensive but still good quality.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Dorothy,

Scary stuff going on in the pet food industry.  There is a new article that just cam out stating this - To avoid food-borne illness, don't feed Fido in the kitchen. That's the advice of researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who reported in this week's issue of the journal Pediatrics that an outbreak of salmonella in 79 people between 2006 and 2008 was caused by contaminated dry pet food. The infections, half of which struck children, are the first known human salmonella cases linked to dry dog and cat food.

The only food I recommend now is Life's Abundance. Years ago I was on a quest to find a safe, healthy food for my own dogs and found LA.
I trusted it so much that I became a field rep and now recommend it to all my clients.  It cost about $1.50 per pound vs. about $1.75 per pound of the leading premium pet food.  Life's Abundance is formulated by holistic vet Dr. Jane Bicks and is not sold in stores.  It's made every two days in small batches and shipped directly to your house.  Read more about it here at my website http://www.pipschoice.com and be sure to watch the video and read Dr. Janes biography.

Hope this help you and set your mind at ease by giving your dogs the best you can.

Sincerely,
Susan Potts,CPG
