he seems to always be lifting leg and peeing, but sometimes
nothing comes of it and sometimes just a wee bit, why so much

Hello Pennie, Could your boy be marking his territory?
Some males tend to lift the leg and only a drop will come out ....
Also, If you think he is having urine troubles take him to the vet for a urine test.....
He may have a urinary infection....
