Question
My pug does not care who comes to the house, but when someone leaves he goes nuts. He runs in a circle, barks his head off and charges the door. He has been known to pull my skirt to get me to come back into the house. Seperation anxiety? He does this when we have guests too.

Answer
Hi Nancy. This may very well be separation anxiety. Or it could be his own little way of saying goodbye. Pugs have a hard time when their owners leave, and some of them develop their own ways of trying to get you to stay. My pug barks like crazy, whines, and scratches at the walls whenever I'm leaving. I don't know if your pug is a puppy or not, but if he is then hopefully once he gets to be older he'll lose this habit. My advice to you is when you're leaving or coming home, don't make a big deal about it and simply say "Bye, Fido!" (Of course, inserting his actual name where Fido is). Don't pet him and spend a whole lot of time with him during the last/first five minutes of you leaving or coming home. Good luck! And remember, pugs are clowns in a fur coat, they have their own little tricks up their sleeve. =)
