Question
I have a 12 week old black pug who appears fit and healthy. I took him to the vets today for his 2nd vaccinations and queried his skin on his belly. He has what appears to be 'spots' of varying sizes on his belly which to me look like black skin pigmentation. He doesn't itch or scratch so they obviously don't bother him. I have a British Bulldog which has very obvious black pigmentation which I know is common in that breed but are unsure if its common on Pugs. If its not can you advise me on what it could be. They do not bleed, ooze or anything but quite literally look like birthmarks. The vet was unsure and had said he had never seen it in a pug which has now left me worried.

Answer
Louise,

I have never noticed any of our pugs with black spots on his/her belly.  But I suppose, just like with the bulldogs, it is possible.  I don't think it would be anything I would worry about.

A lot of pug have unique things about them like moles on their face.  I think your pug just have some unique markings.
