breeding time/male not interested

My male has bred with my female twice and she has been spayed for 6 months now. he keeps trying with her, but to no avail. A friend wants him to mate with her pug. She is doing everything right but my male seems disinterested. He jumps on her, smells her back, then jumps back off. What could be the problem?

I am sorry but I don't know anything about breeding. I recommend you ask your veterinarian.

Sorry I can't be of more help to you. My work is in Pug rescue and we have never done any breeding as there are so many homeless pugs we have had to find homes for.
