puggle in her 1st heat

what is her mood,personality,anything that i should know about going thru her first heat? is she in pain if so what can i do to comforting to her?

None of our female rescues that have come in have acted any differently while being in heat other than they may "stand" when ready to be bred. Most of the time we cannot even tell they are in heat other then swelling of the vulva and they may even get milk. We always get them spayed immediately to prevent unwanted pregnancies and to keep our males from fighting even though they are all neutered.

I don't think she is in any pain. I would just watch her like a hawk so that she does not get impregnated. Males will be very aggressive to get to her.

I would also recommend that she be spayed as soon as possible to help prevent her from getting mammary tumors or pyometra (uterine infection which is deadly.)
