Silver Pugs

Question
I am a graduate student at Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science and as a class assignment, I put together a website on my favorite dogs: PUGS.

I also had a form for suggestions or questions. One site visitor asked about whether silver pugs are born silver or do they turn silver with age.

I would love to send this person some authoritative textual material to answer her question. Could you help me?

Answer
Hi there. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by help you, but I will answer her question.

Pugs only have two natural, pure colors. Those are: fawn and black. Silver and apricot are actually "fake" pug colors and the pugs that have these colors are not pure bred, as the arguement goes. But, when the silver pugs are born, they almost look like fawn puppies. Only when they get to be about 4-6 weeks does their silver really come out. You can definitely tell the difference of the colors by then. I hope I helped.
