Question
What is a male pugs temperament? Also can you give me some tips on house-training our male pug.

           Thanks,
        Sheila

Answer
Typically, male pugs are love muffins. They tend to be a bit more affectionate then the females.

You train a male just like a female...with patience, love, consistency and commitment. You should have your boy neutered at six months of age to help control the leg lifting. Also, if he is obstinate with his house training,  you can resort to a belly bad. We get elastic that is around 4" wide. Cut a length long enough to go around his entire body where it will cover his "winkie". Sew Velcro at each end so that it can be velcroed together to stay in place. Then put a sanitary napkin in it so that it cover his "winkie" so if there is an accident, it will go in the pad. I would NOT do this until he is an adult and would only use it to break his leg lifting.

Thanks and Good luck.
