Newborn Pug Babies

My Pug just gave birth to 6 beautiful healthy babies.  Was wondering how you can tell if the babies are fawn or black.  Are newborn black pugs solid black at birth and easy to tell the color?

You should be able to tell the difference.  Black will be all black.  Fawn will be dark brown with a black mask. Fawn are much darker than expected.  When we had our very first litter, we thought something was wrong because they were so dark, but they lighten up.
