crate trining

i have researched about many things like how to become the lader,taching commands.but i am not able to understand what is the relation between crate training and potty training.is the dog expected to potty in the crate or what?

Answer
The idea of crate training is that the dog will not soil its den or crate. Most of the time this works but sometimes they will still potty in the crate.  You want to make sure the crate is the correct size. Large enough for it to stand up and turn around but not so large it can potty in the crate and lay down away from the mess.
