Question
Hello,
My mother has a pug puppy that is about 6 months old. she has had her about 3 months, she is purebreed and came from a pet store. There is a very sweet lab/border collie mix in the same house, and I have a male pug about 9 months old in the house next door. The female pug has times were she will be playing with another dog, or sometimes doing nothing, and she will just snap, and start going crazy trying to attack the other dog. We pick her up and take her to another room, and all the way there she is still growling and snapping in you arms. It is very concerning. We do not know what else to do to stop it. We never know when she is going to snap. Any ideas on what might help?

                           Thank You.

Answer
Jennifer,

It is very hard when you have a dog that bites or snaps at you.  I think that your pug puppy is young enough to break her of it.

It is very important that you make it uncomfortable every time she does this.  It may be a swat or you can hold the back of her neck and give her a little shake.  Don't ever let her get by with it.  She needs to learn that this is not acceptable behavior.

I think it you really are consistent, that she will learn very quickly.
