sensitive tail?

My mother has a female pug under the age of two who has become obsessed with her tail in the past few months. The pug watches her tail constantly, chases her tail if you touch it, and seems to get aggitated by any attention to her tail. It does not appear to has been broken or hurt at any point and the pug is overall happy and healthy. Any particular reason for her obsession with her tail? Thanks!

It doesn't sound like anything abnormal with your mother's pug.  If you don't want her to be obsessed with her tail, then I would make an effort to not touch it.  If you don't pay attention to it, she probably will not either.
