Question
My pug likes to settle in our kids' beds but once in there but when it comes time to get her out, she goes crazy. She has attacked more than once, especially my husband. We love her but we are frustrated with this behavior. She is not even 3 yet but we can't figure out how to fix this. If I go in and get her she is fine, but my son or husband, forget it, she goes nuts. It is heartbreaking that we have to think of her getting older and even more set in her ways and becoming more aggressive and have to put her down. We of course don't want to do that. We love her, she is part of the family.

Answer
Cathi,

That is not normal behavior for a pug.  They are usually very calm and not aggressive.

If you can get her to learn that it is ok for your husband or son to get her.  Try going with them.  Have them approach her calmly speaking very softly and calmly.

You will have to get her to associate them with something good.

Hope this helps,
Christine Puetz
