peeing pug!

Question
My mother has a 4 year old male pug who despite house training and the use of wee-wee pads and praise and crating (and who has been *ahem* fixed) still pees in the house. He will go outside run around then come inside and pee. He gets extremely sad when a belly band or a diaper is taken out and put on him. He knows to go outside but he still pees in the house. There does not seem to be any crystals or stones in his urine. Is he being spiteful or is there some sort of allergy? The vets that he has been taken to say that he is healthy and are not concerned about this annoying peeing problem. Thanks!

Answer
Rachel,

Once a dog learns to go in the house, it is hard to break him.  It takes a lot of diligence.  You need to go back to when you first house trained him.  He needs to be watched like a puppy.

Take about 3 day and watch him continually.  Every time he starts to go, scold him and take he outside.  Then praise him when he goes.  Just like you would do for a puppy.

If you are consistent for a few days, he should be re-trained to go outside and not in the house.
