Sassy is pregnant

My pug, Sassy, is going to give birth in a couple of weeks to a litter of pups. I missed my answer when I asked this earlier, do you know how many pups they may have the first time they have a litter?

It is impossible to tell how many puppies you will be having.  You might be able to tell by how big Sassy is.  If she is not very big, she might just have 1 or 2 puppies.

If she is big, she could have as many as 7 to 8 puppies.  I think our biggest litter was 9, but I don't like litters that big because it makes it hard for mama to take care of the.

The best size litter is 4 to 6, but there is nothing you can do to make that happen.
