used rear wheel chair

My 13 yr old female is loosing function of rear legs due to hip deteroration. She is of course over weight but is strong in front legs and shoulders, she is also sound minded and good control of body functions, so I am looking for a chair to let her continue to be mobile for as long as possible. Because of age the vet does not recommend hip replacement surgery. I live in the Little Rock Arkansas area and would appreciate any information you have. I have found a couple of web sites and just wondering if you have any information that would be helpful.

Hi Martha. So sorry to hear of your little ones problem with her back end. This, unfortunately, is all too common.

I know people have used the wheelchairs with great success. We recently just found a website that sells wheelchairs made of pvc pipe which makes the cost very minimal compared to the cost of regular carts. Do a search on the internet and see if you can find that site.
