pug puppy bad behaviour

My 6-month old pug puppy often yelps as if in pain and licks himself on his back legs.He has also started growling.He has also lost his appetite.

Sounds like your pup may have a structural problem.  This will usually show up around 6 months old.  He could have leg or hip problems.  Or it could be spinal, but it doesn't sound like that.

I suggest you take him to see your vet.  That is not normal behavior for a healthy puppy.
