Poodle x English Cocker Spanial Accident

Dear keisha,

Our ECS (about 30 pounds) was (we think) bred by a standard poodle - is the birhting process going to go OK with sucha large male and small female?

Most likely not.  You will want to take the dog in and have an X ray or ultrasound done to find out how many and the size of the puppies.  Your vet will probably want to have you do another one just about 1 week before the due date so that you can check to see if the size of the puppies are going to be too big for her.  It will be at this time the vet will decide if a c-section needs to be done or not.
