Jack Russell has grey stool

20 9:26:51

Question
Hi there

This morning my dog done the toilet twice and had his stools were a light shade of grey. Yesterday he had different dog food and got a swim in the local river, which to be honest, isn't the cleanest of river's! Do you think that any of these have contributated to the grey stool? Or is it worth getting it checked out at the vets?

Thank you

Answer
Hello Greg,
As long as  he is up to date on his vaccinations, is drinking water, and acting well, he is most likely fine. If he starts to vomit, stops eating and drinking and acts sick, you should have him looked at.
Any change in food will change the color of stool, however, grey or white stool can be a sign of liver disease, and lack of bile, so if the white stool CONTINUES, take him in to be seen and tested.
Very best of luck.
