Question
Hi, I have two Jack Russel's, that unfortuneately, out of my control mated. I now am looking forward to puppies, which four  of them provided there are four, have good homes. My question is is it absolutely necessary to dock their tails? I have heard so many different answers on this subject and none make any sense, is it a Health issue or a physical problem for them if I don't

Answer
Hello My only ahnds on experiance with dog breeding was bichon/shituz/mini american escamo accident puppies X two litters about 7 1/2 years ago but I have done all the resarch in the world because I Had thought to breed my boston terrier but decided to get her spayed turns out she has iregular ovaories....one oddly big and one oddly skinny and wouldnt have concived anyway or if she hhad I would have lost her in delivery. anyway Jack russell terriers tails are docked for the standard for the "look" weathers for instance boston terriers are born with no tails. All the people that are intrested in a puppy I would think assume there puppy will have a docked tail as I've never seen a jack russell with a tail before. and if the taisl are not docked they wont really look like jack russell terriers. Leaving the tails full wont cause them any harm  nature didnt intend us to hack dogs tails off and I fully udnerstand you Not wanting to do this I personaly would have to get a vet to do this as I couldnt. But if the puppies are not papered or registered after they are born....cant be if the parents arent not docking there tails would be fine as they wouldnt be show or breeding dogs just pets and wouldnt be classed as purebreds without papers. Its entirely up to you but I've given some insight. Best of luck with the coming litter and if you need any information on whelping/preparing for the wehlp or puppy care please feel free to follow up with more questions...my sisters yorkie jsut had chihuhua yorkie X pups...chorkies and helped her with delivery informartion...at 2 am last night lol and am going to be very helpful in the puppies upbringing as I have three dogs of my own and have spent so much time and money in these dogs some would say I'm not all together sane lol. Anyway best of luck to you and the wee ones i'll be here if you need anything else... Cheers!
