Male and Female JRTs living together

Question
I have a 10 year old male JRT and had a 6 year old male JRT (who is no longer with us because he was recently hit by a car).  The two JRTs got along really well, but did get into a few minor scraps from time to time (nothing too bad).  We are considering getting another JRT, as a companion for the older JRT, but are not sure whether we should bring in another male or introduce a female.  We will most likely be getting a puppy (and will neuter or spay the new dog), but are interested in your thoughts on how male and female JRTs get along.  The two dogs will be living in the same space (a laundry room with access to the backyard), so they will have space to run and play.  Any thoughts you can share are appreciated.

Answer
Hello, I would go for a female if your dog is a male as I have not had experiance with two males living together I have two female dogs and a male dog all neutered/spayed and they get along well, two are terriers a male and a female themale is a jack russell the female is a boston terrier and the other female dog is a labrador retreiver they get alnog well and were introduced at varring ages.
