My Jack Russell Sparkle is preganant and due in one week's time. I know that her temperature will drop several degrees and then she will begin whelping within 24 hours. I have a human childs digital ear thermomerter, will this be OK to use on her? Will it be accurate?

Digital Thermometer Emma,

You have to take the dogs temperature rectally and a childs ear thermometer won't work.
You should get a DIGITAL THERMOMETER and make sure to stay away from the glass/mercury ones in case of breakage. The digital ones are great, they are comfortable for the dog, clean easily, work fast, and beep to let you know when finished. Make sure to coat the tip with petroleum jelly before inserting it into the dog's rectum.  I've attached a picture of the thermometer so you can see what I mean. Good luck with the pups!
