JRT - vomitting & wont drink

Question
We got a beautiful JRT on Monday he is 11 months old, played fetch with kids all day etc.

Tues - Same thing

Wed - went out for pee but didn't poop, pooped inside - Husband scolded him.  Then he threw up (dog, not husband)
He continued throwing up most of the day refusing even water

Today Thurs - Still won't eat or drink anything, not even if I put my fingers inthe water (yesterday he would still lick my fingers at least)

All Shots up to date Neutered Male

Answer
Hi Denyse
You say that he is up to date on his vaccinations and that is great - please make sure that Parvo was included in the set of vaccinations he received. Does he have diarrhea as well? Parvo is a virus that can kill a dog quickly so it's important to check that out.
It sounds more like he got into something that he shouldn't have! Dandelions and mushrooms in the yard are dangerous for puppies, and antifreeze tastes good but is lethal.
The most important thing for you to do is to make sure that he stays hydrated. Try giving him a popsicle or an ice cube. If he won't drink you HAVE to take him to the vet and have him checked out. They will have to give him IV fluids if he can't hold any liquid down. Dehydration causes the body's systems to shut down and he could die from it so take it seriously if he isn't drinking.
GOOD LUCK!!
