deworming puppies

Question
Our vet checked the mom and puppies and now they are ready for deworming, with the meds provided.  After I give the proper dosage to each pup (vet did not say to treat mom, but I am reading where it is a good idea to do so)what is the outcome for me to be prepared for?  Your advice is appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Sally,
First I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. For some reason this question was lost.
After the puppies are dewormed, the worms will come out in the puppies stool They should be wormed TWICE.
Also, the mother ABSOLUTELY has to be wormed too. She eats the puppies stool during the last couple of weeks and injests the worms.
The worms will be gone in puppies and mother when both are dewormed twice. That's CRAZY your vet did not say to treat the mother.
