Hair loss?

We have a 7 month old Jack Russell Terrier.  We've been noticing that he seems
to have lost the hair on back side of the joint area on his front legs.  Should we
be concerned?

It's hard to say without looking at it -
Keep an eye on him and watch to see if he is chewing or scratching it off. Allergies are always a concern for Jack Russells and the paws, feet and legs is usually where it starts.
Alopecia (which is hair loss) can be caused by many different things such as fungus (ringworm), mange (mites), fleas, or it may be as simple as he is rubbing it off by laying in the same position on a chair or something. Watch carefully and if it gets any worse definitely take him to the vet to be seen.
