my Jack is messed up!!

I recently left my dog at a kennel while I had to leave the province to work.i had a friend pick him up for me on sun.August 25.Since hes been home,he has no energy(totally not like him)wont eat or drink,and doesn't respond to me.until now,I'm very concerned and maybe thought he was mad at me or a little depressed.he also was very smelly and extremely skinny.My dog has all shots and was completly healthy when i left him.the kennel said he was fine the entire time he was there,eating his normal food and so forth.It's sat. sept.1 now and taking him to the vet when i get home later tonight.Do you have any possible reasons to why hes messed up?  thanx...john

Well you left him in a kennel thats why he's screwed up...he thought you'd left him forever and weren't coming back he is now mad at you and depressed from being left there he also probaly was frightened of the caretakers and didn't eat Well this would explin why he is thin if he is smelly perhaps he was so confused he soiled his sleeping areas and sleep in his messes and the caretakers never thought to wash him...do take him to teh vet and get him checked out...having him worked after being in such a place is a good idea as well.
