Undescended testicle Great Dane

4 mos old Great Dane puppy,  Vet says testicles have not descended,  the breeder says it is normal for Great Danes to not drop testicles till 8 mos of age,  I seriously doubt this,  what is your opinion?

Answer
The testes should be present at all ages from a few weeks onwards.  They can withdraw them into the body when young but they should be visible when sleeping and relaxed.

If they are not dropped it will mean a very expensive operation to get them down/removed.  This is necessary as they can cause cancer.
