my merle 11 month old great dane

hi, i have had great danes now for 24 years now, i have had 4, this one now is a merle mantle he is 11 month old and driving me crazy, he will only eat when he wants to, i know how to feed he and how much he just wont eat,he can go 3/4 days with out and then eat for 2/3 then stop again, when he eats he only eats 2cups of complete, he will not eat tripe or anything like that. he is not yet really thin but to me he is getting there,he has been doc, but makes no difference i have tried getting another dog, but that did not work. please can you help karin

Your dog will eat when he is hungry.

Feed twice daily, smaller meals so that he eats everything.  Two cups each meal is probably enough for him.  Remember all dogs are different and all are not gluttons.

Stop worrying about him, your neurosis is probably making him worse.
