Great Dane: Apartment Dog

Hi There - I am seriously thinking about getting a Great Dane puppy. We live in an 800 sq/ft condo in Montreal. Unfortunately, we don't have a back yard but there are tons of parks around and walking the dog isn't an issue. We already have a tiny male bichon frisee. He has a rather large attitude with us but he's great with other dogs (male/female). Do you think a Great Dane would be an appropriate addition to our family? I have wanted one for several years now and am seriously considering it. Your advice would be appreciated.

A dane would not be appropriate.  Danes do big poos and would smell the apartment out badly.  They also need somewhere to pee and would certainly not make it to the park but would do it on the sidewalk, if they hadn't done in the house already.

An eight stone puppy playing indoors in not a pretty sight and your insurance company would certainly not foot the bill for breakages.

Please don't have one, for the dogs sake.

If you really are keen move out of the city.
