Question
Hello,

My new baby Golden (Sammy) is during fine since I got him last week Monday. I have a few questions though:

1) I am feeding him 1 cup, three times a day. When should I increase the amount of food in every feeding time?

2) I am gradually switching him over from Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy Formula to Wellness Large Breed Puppy Formula, but when should I switch him over to an adult formula food (such as Wellness Core)? I heard that when he turns 4 months or so, you can do so. Is this true? And do I have to switch him over gradually or can I just stop the "Wellness Large Breed Puppy Formula" and start Wellnss Core?

3) I feed Sammy 1 cup three times a day (at 7:40AM, then at 1:00PM or 1:30PM, and then at 7:30PM), however ever since I got him he been leaving behind 1/4 to 1/2 of a cup in his bowl in every feeding time. There are times he eats almost all the food (leaving behind 6-10 kibbles), other times he leave behind more. Is this normal?

Happy New Year!

Thanks,
Ray

Answer
puppy feeding; How is Sammy - any updates for me?

Purina Pro Plan dog food ; Wellness Dog food ; NuVET supplements ; Salmon oil:
Did you make the food change?

Hello Ray, sounds like you are doing a good job with Sammy.

Ok, Glad you are getting rid of the pro plan and going to the Wellness Puppy.  Do NOT go onto the Wellness Core until he is 9 to 10 months old.  OK????
You will do a mix at 9 or 10 month old of the two - do this for 2 weeks and then go 100% to the Core.
